PCDC provides bi-lingual counseling to first time home buyers seeking to purchase a home as well as to those who already own a home, but need assistance in maintaining it. To this end, PCDC has sponsored post-purchase classes to teach homeowners maintenance skills. Classes have been taught in English with Spanish translation available. PCDC also has a Certified Lead Inspector Technician on the staff. In June 2004, PCDC taught four Lead Awareness Classes to assist landlords in complying with the new RI Lead Paint Law that had been scheduled to go into effect on July 1, 2004.
